Contents Page
This is my DTP Mock-Up contents page, I have included everything I mentioned on the front cover and I have also added a few more articles so that it's like other contents pages in magazines.
I have decided to use a similar font and the same colour as my masthead on my front cover as on my contents page so it links the two together.

Other Images
These are some other images I took during my photoshoot, I didn't think any of these were right for the main image on my front cover.
Main Image
I have decided to use this image as it shows a student in our school working but its also slightly interactive as you can see part of the subjects face. I also believe this image fits the criteria of a 'Medium close-up of a student'. I have been asked some questions these were;
- Why did you put your subject on the left making sure that you could see some school books?
- My answer is that I thought this would have a impact on the reader as its not just any image of a student its showing that the subject is doing work.
- What did you want to achieve from the angle?
- My answer is that i wanted my image to have a feeling of interaction, I wanted the reader to feel like they could see Kieren but also see what he was doing.
- And finally Why did you choose it?
- I chose it because the other images i had taken were composed in the same way but i felt this one jumped out and was different to the others, I think this is because the subject isn't writing he was actually asking his friend a question so you have some interaction with the image.
Flat plans
After looking at similar products to the one i have been asked to design I have come up with this basic draft flat plan, I have created this so that I have an idea of whereabouts I want each thing to be included on my front cover. This is my flat plan.
Title Ideas
To think of a name for my student magazine I created a mind map on word, this is because I find visual planning easier than lists. I came up with 5 original names, they were;
Sixth Fix, Perception, Sixthmag, >Sixth(meaning more than sixth) and Insight. I finally decided I liked Insight the most as my idea of a perfect sixth form magazine would be a magazine that gave you an insight into university life and gave you information on other things. So therefore I have decided to have Insight as my magazine name.

Deconstructions.
I found these two similar products on the internet, and I have deconstructed them by pointing out the media conventions the producers have used.
Questionnaire results
I asked 10 students to fill out my questionnaire and here are my results. 5 of the respondents are in year 12 and 5 are in year 13

Briefing
My briefing is to produce the front page of a new school/college magazine featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid out text and a masthead. The briefing also states that i must produce a DTP mock-up of the contents page.
